* Children’s Christmas Program
December 16th 10 a.m. service
Children and Youth: Please arrive at 8:30 to get ready for the service
Please recall the vows you made when these children were baptized. You, as a congregation, made a promise
to participate actively in the mission of the church and a vow to nurture the child’s faith.
Q. “Our Lord Jesus Christ ordered us to teach those who are baptized. Do you, the people of the church promise to tell this child the good news of the gospel, to help this child know all that Christ commands, and by your fellowship, to strengthen his/her family ties with the household of God?”
A. “We do.”
The children and youth need you! We are in need of teachers for FFB (Faithful Fruit Builders) and Bagels and Bibles. FFB is only 2—3 children and lesson plans are provided. Bagels and Bibles is 4—8 teenagers that need a discussion leader. Discussion topics and plans are provided.
Please see Debby Maar if you can be a teacher for either group.
* Cookie Caper
Sunday, December 16th
Bakers are needed to make cookies for the sale. Look for the sign-up sheet on the oak table in the assembly room if you are able to make 2-3 dozen. Cookies can be left in the kitchen before church on the 16th. Cookies will be for sale after church .
* White Gifts
White Gifts Board is up in the Assembly Room on the window sill. Please take a look and sign up to help if you wish.
This year, we are focusing on Seniors. We are looking into the possibility of finding families who may need our help. If you wish to donate children's gifts, keep checking the board or contact Deb Preston.
* Santa’s Secret Workshop
On Sunday, Dec 16th, we will be celebrating our annual Santa’s Secret Shop. This is a very exciting time for our children. On the first Sunday in December, they will be given their lists in Sunday School to record their families names, and then on the 6th they will be able to select their surprise gifts, at 25 cents apiece. Your help is needed and appreciated in making this a successful time for all.
We will need:
*Gift bags of all sizes
*Gifts appropriate for girls and boys of all ages
*Gifts for moms, dads & grandparents.
We especially will need male gifts as often these are in short supply. Your gifts may be placed in the box marked “Santa’s Shop” in the area by the rear entrance. The Deacons thank you in advance for your help and support of this fun program.
