Food Shelf Needs
Food staples such as pasta, sauce, soup, canned vegetables and cereal are always needed. Some items that would be a treat include evaporated milk, family size juice, coffee and taco shells. Including any of these with your donation would be greatly appreciated. Operation Christmas Child See information below for details |
We are attempting to fill 100 shoeboxes (50 boys/50 girls). The greatest need is for Teens, so we are purchasing for that age group. Below are lists of items we will be buying. In the Assembly Room, there are three easels with signboards listing these items. Next to each item is a number indicating how many are still needed. Thus we are counting down to zero for each item. You can check the updated the numbers on the signboards each week .

In an effort to encourage participation, we will recognize donating All Stars.
When you donate items or $ check we will post a paper star thanking you.
We encourage you to join the All Star Team.

Community Garden News
The Community Garden will soon show signs of growth. The East Coast Food Conservation Organization (ECFCO) at Brockport High School will once again be planting vegetables for the community to enjoy. East Coast Food Conservation Organization, INC. is a nonprofit with a focus on addressing food insecurity within upstate NY communities. Visit their website to find out more about the organization. Brian will be tilling the areas around the beds. Weed guard will be put down and mulch will be spread to give our front yard a more presentable appearance. The Welcome stand will be refurbished to be used as a vegetable stand. The group has set the following dates to do work on the garden: May 26, June 9, June 23, June 30, July 14, July 28, August 12, and August 25. Their plan is to work from 9:00-11:00. The congregation is encouraged to help as able. Anyone wishing to do weeding can come at their leisure. If you have questions, suggestions or want to set up a work day for the congregation, please speak with Diane Harper. |
