Mission and Outreach

One Great Hour of Sharing
Around the world, millions of people lack access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, education, and opportunity. The causes supported by One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) are disaster, hunger, poverty, climate change, immigration/migration and refugees. This Offering helps to improve the lives of people in these challenging situations. One
Great Hour of Sharing is the single, largest way that Presbyterians come together every year to work for a better world. We will be receiving this special offering during the season of Lent. Fish banks are available for those who wish to use them. Checks can be made to
First Presbyterian Church (by April 5th).

Neighbors Helping Neighbors:
The Brockport Food Shelf is pleased to announce a new service for our community. If you are struggling to afford groceries or heat your home, we invite you to meet with our trained volunteers. We provide one-on-one help in completing SNAP and HEAP applications, ensuring they are submitted correctly to the proper agency. Visit us at 14 State Street on any of the first four Thursdays of every month. Please bring a photo ID, proof of residency, & recent pay stub if possible. You don't have to face these challenges alone.

Community Hygiene Bank
The Community Hygiene Bank located at Jubilee Christian Church distributes hygiene products 4 times a year.  A collection box will be set up in the narthex for donations.

One Great Hour of Sharing

One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) is the single, largest way Presbyterians join together every year to work for a better world. Please join us!

All around the world we see people whose homes and even loved ones have been washed away by hurricanes and floods, people trapped in systems of injustice ad oppression, and people who will go to bed tonight hungry or without a roof over their heads. OGHS lets us come together to open doors – as well as our hearts – to share the love of Christ through our ministries of justice, compassion and joy.

OGHS is the single, largest way that Presbyterians join together to share God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the world. Each gift helps to improve the lives of people in challenging situations through three impactful programs.

PRESBYTERIAN DISASTER ASSISTANCE – works alongside communities as they recover and find hope after the devastation of natural or human-caused
disasters.

PRESBYTERIAN HUNGER PROGRAM – takes action to alleviate hunger and the systemic causes of poverty so all may be fed.

SELF-DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE – invests in communities responding to their experiences of racism, oppression, poverty and injustice, and educates
Presbyterians about the impact of these societal ills.

Your gifts to OGHS help provide immediate and long-term responses to people in need. You are helping provide food and water, disaster relief, and self-
development resources to people striving to better their lives in the face of injustice or oppression.ck here to edit.
